Notes
a. Note:   The household of Anders D. Ecklund was enumerated in Twin Lakes township of Carlton County, Minnesota, on the 1880 Federal census. It consisted of Anders, age 31, wife Hillma, 21, daughter Eveline, ten months, sister Emma, 16, and boarder Ole J. Olson, 22. Anders and Ole were storekeepers, Hilma a housekeeper, and Emma at home. Anders, Hilma, and Emma had been born in Sweden, the baby in Minnesota, and Ole in Norway.
The family of Andrew [?] Eckland was enumerated in Carlton village of Carlton County, Minnesota, on the 1900 Federal census. He was 51 and had been born in Sweden, immigrating in 1874. He was a naturalized citizen; his occupation is presently illegible (it seems to start with "G" but does not appear to be "grocer"). With him were wife Helma/Hilma, 42, daughters Evelina V., 20, and Emma E., 19, and sons Andrew W. [?], 15, and F-- Lewis/David, ten (the names are difficult to read and/or overwritten). Hilma had borne five children, of whom four were living at the time of the census. She had also been born in Sweden, having immigrated in 1875; the children had all been born in Minnesota. The two boys had attended school that year, Andrew for four months (Forest's length of attendance is not stated). Andrew sr. rented their home.
