Note: Obit from Colville Examiner 6 May 1939 "Funeral services wereheld at the Catholic church MOnday morning for Anna SophiaRanahan, 68, Bossburg, who died at a local hospital. The Rev.Father T. A. Driscoll S. J. read the services which were underthe direction of Cory-Moser funeral home. Rosary services wereheld at the Cory-Moser chapel Sunday evening. Interment was atthe Calvary cemetery. (This is the Catholic end of the Highlandcemetery which is our city cemetery).Mrs. Ranahan had lived in Stevens county for 40 years, havingcome to Washington from Evensville, Minnesota, where she wasborn in 1870. Her father, Michael Anderson, was one of thefirst legislators for the state of Washington.Surviving are: Two daughters, Mrs. Jack Griffin, Bossburg; Mrs.Walter Day, Bossburg. Five sisters, Mrs. Cecil Roberts,Seattle; Isabella Anderson, Colville; Emily Anderson, LosAngeles; Mrs. F. E. Frothingham, Boston, and Mrs. James Love,Seattle; and nine grandchildren."
