 TESTIMONY of WITNESS: J W CORDILL: I live about 1 mile from William F BESS and have known him for about 6 years. I helped him survey his land. I have seen him 12 or more times at his home, once just 10 days ago. His land is hilly with scrub timber of poor quality, land good for farming and is not fenced for any other purpose.Has been gone from his claim 2 or 3 years ago he went to AR to pick cotton and was gone 3 or 4 months, I can't say exact. He has built a home, stable, kitchen, graind house, and cistern.
 TESTIMONY of WITNESS: L M GARRETT: I live about 1/2 mile from William F. BESS and known him since about 1880. Seen him on his claim at least 20 times or more, the last was last week.

BESS, former Bristow groceryman died lastnight at Bristow at the age of 79 following an illness of sometime. Burial will be made at the Southern Heights cemetery. BESS is survived by three sons, Fred BESS of this city, J.H. of Stroud, and George of Jenks. One daughter of Coffeyville, KS also survives.
