Note: !FAMILY-HISTORY:John BOYD of Berkley Co WV chapter 1, pages 20, 21, 26, 27, 28,; NOTE: Isaac BOYD b 23 Aug or Sep 1808 in Nicholas Co KY; Married Mahala EVANS,
daughter of Edward EVANS and Elizabeth HOWARD, 17 Jul 1828, Lawrence Co IN;
lived in Bedford much of his life and was a carpenter and mechanic by trade;
died age 81, 13 Nov 1889 in Bedford from "senile gangrene," duration 4 months.
(page 10) In Lawrence Co IN John Jr entered into
an agreement as follows: "Know all men by these presents that I John BOYD Jr
or his heirs are firmly bound unto John BOYD Sen. in the penal sum of two
thousand dallors current money of the State of Indiana given under my hand and
seal this 19th day of Jan A. D. 1828.....The conditions of the above obligation
is such that the above bonded John BOYD Jr doth obligate himself or his heirs
to support Charles and John BOYD Sen. in diet and clothing in a good Christian
like manner during their natural life and at their death to bury them in a
Christian like manner. For which the said John BOYD Jr is to ahve the half
quarter section of land which he now lives on, also all the said John BOYD Sen.
moveable property, Exceot one horse beast and a Saddle & one Cow, that he must
give to Isaac BOYD when he is of age or marries also the said John BOYD Jr is
to have Eighty Seven Dallors per annum that is coming to Charles and John BOYD
Sen. from Elisha BOYD living in Berkley Co VA during the said Charles BOYD's
natural lifetime. The said John BOYD Jr obligates himself to give Ann Rebecca
BOYD one bed and bedding also a cow and a side saddle, when she comes of the
age of twenty one if she stays with him until then, given under my hand and
