Note: Lonnie attendd Dill City, Okla., Public school until the 7th grade, due to being the 4th child in a large family he was needed to help support the family, after working on a few farms, he moved to Oklahoma City and worked at Wilson Meat Packing plant. He enter the Army in 1944, serving about 1 year in the Infantry, then he re-enlisted in the Air Force for additional 3 years, all but 6 to 9 months of this was spent in Germany. His death was brought on by severe case of Hepatitis that damaged his liver.
He was married to Dortha Nell Boomer (daughter of Albert Boomer and Anna Louie Darden) on 6 Jun 1948 in Fairview, Okla., in the Cedar Springs Church of the Nazarene where Dortha's mother pastored. Lonnie was stationed at Carswell Air Force base in Fort Worth, Texas. This was their first home. After discharged from the Air Force in October 1948 they moved to Bethany, Okla., where he worked at Tinker AFB. In Feb 1950 they moved to Moore, Okla. Soon after marriage, Lonnie was called to preach the gospel. He preached his first sermon in the Nazarene Church at Dill City, Okla, for several years he was only helper. He pastored his first church, the Church of God, in Raleigh, North Carolina, he was there only 1 year. He pastored the Church of God in Bristow, Okla., at which time he worked for the Federal Government at the FAA Center in Oklahoma City, driving to Bristow on the weekends, doing this for 8 1/2 years. Then he pastored the Church of God in Moore, Okla for about 20 years until his death. He pastored a total of nearly 30 years. During this time he wrote songs, poems, and religious articles.
