Note: After their wedding, Ward & Jennie set up housekeeping in Vermillion, where they operated a general store and acted as postmaster. After operating a farm near Mexico for a few years, they moved in 1912 into Pulaski. there he served as postal clerk from 1915 to 1919. After that he sold insurance full time. In 1925, they moved from Port Street to Broad Street. Ward served as Justice of the Peace for 18 years until 1950. He also served as Police Justice, member of the Board of Education, member of the Board at the Methodist Church.
