Note: Three Phippens are in Vermont in 1800 with girls under 10, all in Westminster, Windham County: Attwater, Joseph, and Samuel, apparently three sons of Samuel Phippen & Emme Averill of Topsfield, Massachusetts. Susan is probably the daughter of Samuel, as neither Joseph's family nor Jonathan Atwater's family list a daughter Susan. In addition, Susan named a son Samuel.
The death certificate of her son Samuel said that his mother's name was Susan Phippin.
