Note: N47 Commercial Advertiser, October 19, 1832 On Wednesday the 17th inst., of consumption, Mr. Charles Bullinger, in the 43d year of his age. From the Bullinger message board on Ancestry.com: My research shows that my gg grandfather was Henry Bullinger. His father was Charles Bullinger and his mother was Christiana Schultz, They were married in London and Henry was born there in 1799. He had a brother, Charles Owen Bullinger who was born in London in 1790. When Henry was naturalized as a U.S. citizen 1827 the person that stood for him was Charles Bullinger. I have never found a birth certificate or death certificate in N.Y. for this Charles. I assume that this Charles was in fact Henry's brother from London, Charles Owen. The New York City Directories show Charles and Henry residing together in 1834. In 1835 Henry is listed as living with Ensey, the widow of Charles. I have the death certificate of Edwin Bullinger who died in 1914. He was a publisher in N.Y. He was born in 1841 and his mother is listed as Ensey Glover and his father was Charles O. Bullinger. This is where some real confusion comes concerning Charles. The City Directories indicate that the husband of Ensey died about 1835.(this would fit with Charles Owen being born in 1790) The death certificate of Edwin shows that his father was Charles Owen and his mother was Ensey. Edwin was born in 1841.(I would think the father of a child born 1841 would have been born about 1820. Charles Owen of London would have been 51 if he was the father of Edwin I find this not likely.) This would be about six years after the death of Ensey's husband???? Posted by Tom Bullinger
