Note: Tormod Rostol: Ruth suffered a slight stroke on 25 MAR 2004 and was immediately hospitalized. Her symptoms included partial paralysis on
one side of her body, especially her arm, and slurred speech. One week
later, on 01 APR 2004, she recovered sufficiently to be released from
the hospital to her home in Sandnes, under the care of her daughter,
Solveir Bakken. Her steady recovery was expected, but on Thursday, 08
APR 2004 Ruth collapsed in her home, striking her head and lapsing
into unconsciousness. Her daughter Solveig was in the house and
attended to her mother immediately. Ruth died in the hospital without
regaining consciousness. She had enjoyed robust health all of her life
until these episodes.
