Her passing was peaceful and comfortable: she was under hospice care and slept most of the last week of her life, and died in her own bed.

Twice widowed, she is survived by her four children, Camilla O. Terhune of Kent, Clarence T. Westby of Maryville, Kenneth Westby of Auburn, and Esther D. Melcher of Bellingham. Margit was the oldest of 15 children and is survived by six of her siblings; four living in Norway and Bergitte Gjerding and Sverre J. Ludvigsen living in Seattle. She leaves behiind 12 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren. Memorial Service: Monday, January 8, 11 a.m. Purdy & Walters Funeral Home, 409 Filbert Road, Lynnwood, WA. Interment following at Floral Hills Cemetery at the same address. Note: Auburn, Kent and Seattle are in King Co., WA; Marysville is in Snohomish Co., WA; Bellingham is in Whatcom Co., WA.
