Note: N49 I, David Charles Walker, writing in February 1990, remember visiting Great Aunt Alice in her house in West Haven when I was in High School in Milford, CT. She was a "collector", and, as I recall, the house was packed with junk & cats. I know that when she died, it took my mother and father many weeks to clean out the house. At the time of her fatal stroke, I went with my mother to West Haven, and I remember helping Aunt Alice into the car as we took her to the hospital. Her funeral was held in the Congregational Church (I don't remember whether it was the one in Milford - to which we belonged, or the one in West Haven - to which she probably belonged), In any event, I played the organ for the service. I remember being alone with her in the church before the service; the casket was open, and I touched her face. It was the first time I had ever touched a dead person. It left a memory. She was a kind lady.
