a. Note:   William G. Maner served in the Civil War Company E , First Regiment , Georgia State Line from Cobb and Fulton counties. This regiment was known as the "STATES RIGHTS GUARDS" JOE BROWN'S PETS.
  William G. Maner died in 1890 without a will. His estate was probated in the Court of Ordinary in Cobb County, Ga. Although his wife Mary was still living, there is no mention of her in the estate papers.

  To the Court of Ordinary, and to John M. Stone Ordinary, of said County.
  The petition of George A. Maner shows that he is an heir at law of William G. Maner , of said county , deceased, and that he has applied, at the request of the other heirs of said deceased , for letters of administration on said estate; that consists in part of lot numbers 748 , 749 , 751 , 761 , 762 , 763, 765, and fifteen acres of lot 820, being the north half of said lot lying west of the Western & Atlantic Railroad, and all of said lands being in the 17th district , 2nd section of said county. The personal property belonging to said estate is more that sufficient to pay all debts against it; a division in kind of said lands is practicable, and it is the desire of the heirs of the said deceased that the same be made.
  Petitioner further shows that the heirs at law of said deceased are petitioners. Emma N. Bolling , Sarah Rodella Brown , Robert W. Maner , Joseph J. Maner , Leonard Tonkey Maner , and William Albert Maner all of said county , and all are of lawful age except William Albert Maner , who is represented by his Guardian, James W. Bolling. ( Emma's Husband).
  Your petitioner prays the granting of an order for a division in kind of the said property, and the appointment of three or more freeholders of said county , for the purpose of appraising and dividing said property.

Maner , Leonard Tonkey Maner , and William Albert Maner, and also James W. Bolling , Guardian of said William A. Maner show cause if any they have , before me at the Court House, Marietta, Ga. on the first Monday in December next at 10 O'clock, why the petition should not be granted as prayed for.
  William Albert Maner became a Doctor. His office was in Atlanta, Ga. Many of his descendants still live in the Atlanta area as well as Augusta, Ga.
