Note: Per Ullapool museum: 1811 census for Assynt, Sutherland (one of few that remain) shows that at Elphine (sic) Mr. Alexr Robertson lived with his family, that he was in agriculture, and the family consisted of 6 males and 2 females. 1841 census, Alexander is 60, a farmer, born in county. Ullapool museum research writes: Although there is information within the Museum about the Rev. James Robertson, there is almost nothing about his siblings. I have searched the Coigach website run by Donald MacDonald-Ross, where under the Coigach section I found mentioned of "the Minister's nephew, Alexander Robertson seeking to rent the farm of North Langwell" and in Section 5 of the Coigach part, an undertaking on the part of tenants to formalise their tenure with Government officials following the forteiture of the Cromartie Estate after the '45: Keanachulish is rented by Alexander Robertson (pre 1770). I feel it follows therefore, that the marriage in Assynt of Alexander Robinson(sic) is the son of the above mentioned Alexander Robertson. It is highly probably too that Catherine Robertson, wife of Thomas MacKenzie, 3rd of Langwell, is the daughter of the above mentioned tenant, and therefore the sister of Alexander Robertson resident at Keanachulish in 1841 aged 60 years (Charles father). Two entries for this family--not sure how to combine them.
