Nephew of Rev James Robertson, Alexander, desired the farm of North Langwellon the ground that the possessors 'are so poor idle and ignorat as well as contentious that there can be no hope of their being ever able to improve the place'. He started process to remove the tenants who said he 'looked with evy on their farms on account of the fine corn growing' but if Mr. Robertson had been as industrious as they were it is more than probable he might have good corn'. Robertson would benefit from their improvements which would enable him to 'support himself in a life of pleasure and dissipation'.
