a. Note:   [rlord335.ged] ROBERT DE WELLE, son and heir, farmed the Honor of Haughley,
 Suffolk,alias the Honor of the C onstable, 1184-88. He is mentioned often
 in thePipe Rolls at the end of the 12th century as s urety for the debts
 ofSimon, Earl of Northampton; and he was also himself in debt to the Jews
 and assumed the burden of his father's debts to the Crown. He made
 grantsto Greenfield Priory , to Bardney Abbey and to William Ruffus
 called hiskinsman; and he is mentioned in lawsuits , 1203. He married
