  Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Ertel Memorial Chapel in Cortez for Kenneth Ray Hopperton of Mancos, who died Friday, July 24, 1998, in Beaumont, Texas. He was 88.
  The Rev. Alane Griggs will officiate. Burial will be at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Mancos. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. today at Ertel Memorial Chapel.
  Mr. Hopperton was born Oct. 22, 1909, in Crittenden, Ky. He was a longtime member of the Mancos United Methodist Church and the Masons. He was also a member of the Gideons and Professional Engineers Society, and was a Kentucky Colonel. He was a former member of the Mancos Lions Club.
  Survivors include his wife, Mary E. Hopperton of Orange, Texas; son, Ronald Hopperton of Orange, Texas; daughter, Beverly Jo Cunningham of Cortez; sister, Bonnie Loop of Dallas, Texas; brother, Harry Hopperton of Verona, Ky.; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
  Memorial donations may be made to the Mancos United Methodist Church, Mancos CO 81328.

  Maud Ella Hopperton, 88, of Florence, died at 4 p.m. Saturday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood. She was a retired dietician with St. Elizabeth Medical Centers, was active in senior centers in Florence and Walton, and was a member of Beaverlick Baptist Church. Her husband, John Hopperton, died in 1999. Sons, Ronnie Hopperton and Donnie Hopperton, died in 1989 and 1985, respectively.
  Survivors include a daughter, Janet Townsend of Florence; sons, Terry Hopperton of Hebron and Bill Hopperton of Florence; 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
  Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Middendorf-Bullock Funeral Home, Hebron. Visitation will begin there at 11 a.m. Wednesday. Burial will be in Beaver Lick Christian Church Cemetery, Union. Memorials are suggested to Hebron Lutheran Church, 3140 Limaburg Road, Hebron, Ky. 41048.
