Jacob Zoll arrived October 10, 1768, from Rotterdam, aboard the ship "Minerva" Thomas Arnott, Master. His signature reads Jacob Zoll. No middle name. It is clearly legible and readable. Anna Elizabeth Merkel was the daughter of Peter Merkel and Catherina Grim. These lines are well documented online. A Polly Zoll married Peter Hoffman February 5, 1805. I dont know if that daughter was Hanna or Magdalena. I havent looked to see what names Polly is a diminutive for. Elizabeth Zoll married Frederich Miller November 28, 1807. William Zoll married Christina Wann from Reading, October 18, 1807. Sarah Zoll married Christian Brobst June 14, 1807, and died September 11, 1831. This line is well documented. Joseph Zoll married Susannah Hoy. He died in 1877. Solomon died in 1840. I dont know if he ever married. His will reads: "A true and perfect inventory of all and singular the goods and chattels rights and credits of Solomon Zoll late of the township of Independence in the County of Warren deceased made by us whose names are hereunto subscribed the 28th day of November eighteen hundred and forty "Apparel $35.00 Debt due from Peter Mucklow (?) 272.43 Gun 3.00 Trunk 1.00 Four book 1.00 $312.43 "The above amount of three hundred and twelve dollars and forty three cents appraised by us the day and year written above. February 12, 11983, I received this letter from Evang. Pfarramy Gundelbach 7143 Vaihingen/Enz BRD "you were asking me for Jacob Zoll. I am sorry not to be avle to verify your statements. In our Familienregister and our Tauf- and Traubucher there is no Jacob Zoll, neither born at February 11th 1743 nor at any other suitable time. The only one Zoll may be Jakob Friedrich Zoll, who was born 2. July 1752. The Familienregister notice for him "haust" (=lives) in Amerika", nothing else, esp. no marriage. This Jakob Freidrich was the son of Johannes Zoll, who was born 25.January 1717, and married with Elisabeth Schofer, born 24. March 1715. Copulation was 28. January 1739. Johannes Zoll was Weingartner (vine-dresser). The dates of death are unknown. Parents of Johannes Zoll were Johan Jacob Zoll, born in Horrheim (near Gundelbach) (When ?), married in Dundelbach 14. November 1713 with Anna Aisenbrey, born in Gundelbach at 1. October 1683, died 8. November 1725. Johann Jakob Zoll died22. April1733. Because I am not sure, the Jakob Friedrich Zoll is really that one, You were asking for, I dont citate more genealogies. Our Kirchenbucher start in 1688, therefore you will not find out very much about ancestry of your family. Heinrich Turck" March 23, 1983 I received this reply from: Hauptstaatsarchiv Stuttgart Konrad-Adenaurer-Strasse 4 7000 Stuttgart 1 The translation reads: "Paragraph 1: The archive has searched United States Immigration records collected by Daniel Rupp. They found the name Jacob Zoll as entering the United States on the ship "minerva" at the port of Philadelphia on October 10, 1768. "Paragraph 2: These are U.S. immigration records, NOT German emigration records. However, they are suggesting to search two locations in Germany where they have evidence of people with the name Zoll as arriving in the United States (again, this information was derived from the source noted above). These are Gundelbach = county Ludwigsburg, and Schmie. "Paragraph 3: You will need to search offical church records, since in Baden-Wurttemburg, these records are not held in the state archives. Write to the following: a) Evangelischen Pfarramtern, D-71665, Vaihingen an der Enz, Gundelbach. b) Evangelischen Pfarramtern, D-75433, Maulbronn-Schmie. "Write to them and ask them to check in their church records for evidence of birth-They give the date of 1743. "With friendly greetings, Dr. Natale" Four pages of German were translated by a Bavarian translator. This is what they say: "Day, month, Familys father Day, month, Familys mother Day, month, and year and Year of and year of of birth marriage birth Zoll, Johann Jakob Feb. 14, 1713 I.
