Note: 5 (Vol. 33, Number 23):
"In Auburn, December 25th, Martha A., wife of J. C. Mansur, a native of Hindesburg, Vt., aged 35 years, 11 months and 16 days.'
I do not know to whom "J. C." refers. James Crombie Mansur lived in Sacramento at that time, but he was married to the former Harriett Ann Crow. It possibly could have been a "Joseph Mansur," who conveyed a deed in Placer County in 1861 but for whom I have no other record. I also do not have Martha's maiden name. She was not Electa Wixon's daughter, "Martha A," who was a neighbor of James Mansur. She married Charles R. Allen in 1864 and died in Oregon in 1901.
