Charlotte Palmer of Nova Scotia By Ron Harris August 02, 2001 at 09:51:47 The only information I have is from an old bio from a Union Co. IN book. According to the history, Charlotte Palmer was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia March 4, 1797. Her father was John Palmer. The book says that he was a Captain of an English war vessel during the Am. Rev. and that after his vessel was sunk by an American ship, he settled in Nova Scotia. The bio goes on to say that he moved to Chenango Co. NY then on to a western county of NY, and on to Cincinnati. While in Cincinnati, Charlotte met Tristrum Paddock, newly from Nantucket, they married and settled first in Cincinnati, and than in Center township, Union Co. IN, near Salem. Her father went on to Arkansas and lived there until his death. The surviving children of Tristrum and Charlotte Paddock are listed as; George, Mary, Phebe H., Joseph H., Sarah M., Ellen, Charles R., and Benjamin F. The eldest three children died in infancy. Sarah M. Paddock married Job Harris in Randolph Co. IN. I am from this line. I can find nothing on Charlotte's mother or anything on her father in Arkansas or New York. The bio says that John's father is "Lord Palmer, of England". This helps very little, even if it is true, there were plenty of Lord Palmers in England at the time. Please help me if you can. Note: Tristrum's father was Joseph Paddock. Tristrum was born in Nantucket on July 7, 1793. His father and mother were lifelong members of the Society of Friends. They both ended their years in Union Co. IN. is NOT responsible for the content of the GEDCOMs uploaded through the WorldConnect Program.
