Reed, 86, of Route 4, Box 98, Charleston, died Friday in Thomas Memorial Hospital after a short illness. He was retired from the Vick Green Construction Co. He was a lifelong resident of the Kanawha Valley. Surviving: sons, Robert O. Reed of Kopperston and Jake Reed of Sissonville; daughter, Mrs. Phyllis Totten of Houston, Texas; sister, Betty Jarrett of Pax; 15 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren. Service will be 1 p.m. Monday at Cunningham-Parker-Johnson Funeral Home with the Rev. Arnold Shaffer officiating. Burial will be in Reed Cemetery, Sissonville. Friends may call any time today at the funeral home.
