Publication: The Register Herald Published: Tuesday, November 2, 2004 Headline: Vaden Roy Davis Dothan - Vaden Roy Davis, 92, died Monday, Nov. 1, 2004, at Veterans Administration Hospital in Beckley, following a long illness. Born Aug. 29, 1912, at Page, W.Va., he was the son of the late Joseph and Betty DeLung Davis. Mr. Davis was a retired foreman for Alloy with many years of service. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and had served in the West Virginia National Guard. He was a member of the Oak Hill Lodge No. 120 AF and AM, and Sewell Chapter No. 24 RAM. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Marvin and Joseph "Pete" Davis; and a sister, Martha Elkins. Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Bonnie Coleman Davis; sons, Vaden Keith "Chick" Davis of Fredericksburg, Va., and Roger Lee Davis of Dothan; daughter-in-law, Marjorie Davis; three grandchildren, Keith Edward Davis, Amanda McClellan and Joseph Davis; and three great-grandchildren, Joseph, Danielle and Maci. Service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at High Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum, Oak Hill, with military graveside rites by VFW Post No. 3110 of Oak Hill and masonic graveside rites by Oak Hill Lodge No. 120 AF and AM. Entombment will be in High Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum, Oak Hill. Friends may call from 12 noon until 1 p.m. Wednesday at the mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to be made to the Oak Hill Lodge No. 120 Building Fund, P.O. Box 145, Oak Hill, WV 25901.
