Funeral services were conducted from the home Friday, March 2, with burial in the Surface cemetery at Riner. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Josephine Martin Roop, five daughters, Mrs. George Dobbins, Childress; Mrs. William Lawrence, Portsmouth; Mrs. Frank Bishop, Christiansburg; Mrs. George Loveday, Riner and Mrs. Latha Dobbins, Pilot. One son, Millard H. Roop, Riner; one brother Luther Roop, Pennsylvania; two sisters, Mrs. Samuel Roop and Mrs. John Martin, both of Riner; 15 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Mr. Roop was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Ham Roop of this county.
