  Publication: Beckley Raleigh Register Published: Sunday Morning, September 12, 1948 Headline: Burgess Rites Set for Today Mount Hope - Funeral services will be held at 2 p. m. today for Albert Lee Burgess, 43, of Mount Hope, who died in an Oak Hill hospital Friday morning. Services will be conducted at the residence with the Rev. Mont Carr officiating. Burial will follow in the Sanger Cemetery. Born at Sanger, he was a member of the United Mine Workers of America, Long Branch local. He was formerly employed by the Long Branch Coal Co. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Myrtle Burgess; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bert Burgess of Sanger; three brothers, Kenneth and Leslie of Oak Hill, and Garbis of Sanger; four sisters, Mrs. Eva Kidd, Mrs. Gladys White, Mrs. Evelyn Smith, and Mrs. Heffie Elders, all of Sanger; two children, Elbert Jr. and Joan, of Mt.
