Note:   Publication: The Charleston Gazette Published: November 25, 2002 Headline: John "Woody" Underwood John "Woody" Underwood, 86, of Charleston passed away Nov. 23, 2002, at his home after a short illness. He was owner and machinist of Elk Machine Company. Mr. Underwood served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. He is survived by his wife, Omie C. Underwood; and several nieces and nephews. There will be no service or visitation. The body has been cremated. Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, is in charge of arrangements.
