About 1873 George Johnson bought Enoch Light's place on Gunnoe's Camp Branch from William Radford, and moved there. Thereafter the hollow was called Johnson Branch.
The children of George Johnson were: Tabitha Ann Judson, James W., Nancy Jane McCune, Frances Emmeline Bragg, Sarah Catherine Blake, Melvina Estep and Thomas. Thomas built the frame house in Johnson branch, just in front of the old log house erected by Enoch Light, and lived there several years after his marriage to Adena Smith, of Boston.
