  Elizabeth Doss Clonch, widow of John Clonch, married John Steed on 26 October 1848 in Gallia County, Ohio. They were the parents of Mary A. b. abt. 1847, William John Henry b. 1850, Lucy J. b. abt. 1853, and Cynthia Ann Steed b. 11 July 1855. They were found together in the census with their children from 1850 to 1870. In 1880 Elizabeth and John were both listed as married but were living in separate housholds.
