Dennis and Nancy were married in 1803 in Mecklenburg County, Virginia; he was the son of a Jeremiah. Family tradition is that three of his brothers (William, Matthew, and Jacob) moved to Mercer County, Kentucky in the late 1790's. About 1806 Dennis and Nancy moved to the area of Kanawha County, (West) Virginia, which later evolved into Mason County, West Virginia. Dennis appears to have died before the 1820 Mason County, (West) Virginia Federal Census.
