Dempsey Dies; Rites Slated Fayetteville - Earl Stanley Dempsey, 58, of Fayetteville died Tuesday morning in an Oak Hill hospital after a short illness. Born Nov. 15, 1910, at Victor, he was the son of the late William and Laura Ingram Dempsey. He was a state employe, a former Fayette County deputy sheriff and a member of the Methodist Church and LaFayette Lodge No. 57, Ancient Free and Accepted Masons. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Lucy Wilkerson Dempsey; three sons, Eldridge Roy of Hopewell, John Stanley of Dallas, Texas, and Herbert Lee Wilkerson of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; two daughters, Mrs. James Workman of Lansing and Mrs. Eloise Danko of Ravenswood; two brothers, Clyde of Garten and Fred of Victor; a sister, Mrs. Hester Skaggs of Ansted; and 10 children. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Dodd-Payne Funeral Home Chapel in Fayetteville with Rev. Billie Reed Wickline in charge. Burial will be in Huse Memorial Park. The body will remain at the funeral home where friends may call after 5 p.m. today. (in file)
