  Publication: The Charleston Gazette Published: Monday, May 28, 2007 Headline: Lawrence "Corky" Rhodes Lawrence "Corky" Rhodes, 77, of Charleston, died Friday, May 25, 2007. He was a 1947 graduate of Stonewall Jackson High School, a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, and retired from Union Carbide Corporation. He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Boggess Rhodes; father, Delmar C. Rhodes; and brother, D.C. "Junior" Rhodes. Surviving are son, Mark W. Rhodes of Charleston; daughter and son-in-law, Sandy and Dave Castleman of Charleston; mother, Nettie Ingram Rhodes of Charleston; brother, Richard L. Rhodes of Hurricane; sisters, Barbara Rhodes of St. Albans and Sharon Waugh of Elkview; grandchildren, Mark W. Rhodes II, and Scott, Adam and Nick Castleman. His body was cremated and there will be no service or visitation. The family requests donations to Kanawha Hospice Care, Inc., 1143 Dunbar Ave., Dunbar, WV 25064.
