a. Note:   ofBenjamin Thomas Longstreth and a previous wife/relationship. Mary Jane Roupe is clearly not the mother as she is listed as being the mother of 4 children, 3 living (John, David, and Belle). Benjamin and Mary were married 10 years while William, listed after the three younger children, was age 14. The 1910 census listing is missing the information on the number of marriages for the head of household and his wife. In William's obituary his parents are listed as Thomas and Mary Jane Roupe Longstreth. This may be because Mary raised him from such a young age. Another possiblility is that Mary Jane brought this child into the marriage and Thomas raised him as his own.

  Obituary William M. Longstreth, 88, 155 Woodland Ave., died at 4:05 a.m. Monday, September 10, 1973 in the Greene County Memorial Hospital. He was born May 8, 1885 in Gilmore Township, the son of the late Thomas and Mary Jane Roupe Longstreth. His wife, Della Roberts Longstreth, whom he married March 11, 1909, died September 10, 1970. He is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Janet Clark and Mrs. Charles "Audrene" Iams, both of Waynesburg, Mrs. Edwin "Lorene" Tucker, Amity and Mrs. John "Pearl" McNay, Prosperity; two sons, Floyd and Chester of Waynesburg; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one brother, L. Layton Longstreth. He was a retired farmer and a United Methodist by faith. He spent most of his life in the Waynesburg area.
  Obituary (further) Friends of William M. Longstreth, 155 Woodland Ave., Waynesburg who died Monday September 10, 1973 are being received Tuesday 2-9 P.M. in the Robert L. Lantz Funeral Home, Rogersville where services will be conducted 2 P.M. Wednesday, with Rev. Carol Adcock officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Bluff.
