  The following obituaries courtesy of Gwen Dulaney on the Washington County, Pennsylvania board at ancestry.com show that Thomas' wife was the daughter of Joseph E. Miller and Esther Emmaline Henderson.
  Obituary Headline: Mrs. M. Joan Miller Dutton Mrs. M. Joan Miller Dutton, 56, wife of F.G. Dutton, Taylorstown, died in Washington Hospital Sunday night after a 10-week illness. Mrs. Dutton was born at Dallas, W.Va., March 9, 1881, a daughter of the late Joseph E. and Esther Henderson Miller. She was a member of Taylorstown Christian Church. Surviving, besides her husband, are the following sons and daughters: Mrs. Paul W. Mosier, Beech Bottom, W.Va.; Mrs. Clark S. Post, Avella R.D.; J. Harold Dutton, Beech Bottom; Miles H. Dutton, Taylorstown, and Francis S. and Eugene B. Dutton, both at home; and the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. Maude Miller and Mrs. Reed Trussell, both of Claysville; Mrs. Thomas Fry, Crothers; Mrs. Blanche Thomas, Pennsboro, W.Va.; J.H. Miller, Wooster, O.; O.M. Miller, Washington R.D.; O.E. Miller, Brooklyn, N.Y., and W.C. Miller, Glen Easton, W.Va. Funeral services will be held in the Dutton home at Taylorstown Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 oclock. Burial will be in Claysville Cemetery.   Obituary Headline: John H. Miller Word has been received by relatives here that John H. Miller, 68, died Friday afternoon at 1 oclock at his home in Wooster, O. Mr. Miller was born in West Finley Township in 1876. A son of the late Joseph E. and Esther Henderson Miller. He was engaged in the oil well drilling and operating industry during the major part of his life. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Amy Scott Miller, one daughter, Myrtie, at home; three brothers, Otis, Washington R.D. 3; Oliver, Brooklyn, N.Y., and Craig, Glenn Easton, W.Va.; four sisters, Mrs. Blanche Thomas and Miss Maude Miller, Pennsboro, W.Va.; Mrs. Gertrude Trussell, Gladysville [Claysville], and Mrs. Thomas Fry, Crothers. Two sisters are deceased, Mrs. May Ramage and Mrs. Josephine [Joan] Dutton.   Obituary Headline: Miss Maude Miller Died Last Saturday Miss Laura Maude Miller; 78, Claysville, died Saturday April 26, 1952, at 3:15 a.m. in the home of her sister, Mrs. Reed Trussell, 102 Wayne street, following an illness of several months. Born in West Finley township near Dallas, W.Va. October 5, 1873, she was a daughter of Joseph E. and Ester E. Henderson Miller, and spent her life in Washington County. Miss Miller was a member of the Claysville Baptist Church. Surviving are three sisters and three brothers, Mrs. Blanche Rankin Thomas, Pennsboro, W.Va.; Mrs. Gertrude Trussell, Claysville; Mrs. Whanetta Frye, Carothers; O.M. Miller, Washington, R.D. 3; O.E. Miller, Brooklyn, N.Y.; and W.C. Miller, Glen Easton, W.Va. Funeral services were held at the Brownlee Funeral Home, Monday, April 28, 1952, at 2 p.m., in charge of Rev. Hugh Eiland, pastor of the Claysville Baptist Church. Interment was in the West Alexander Cemetery.
  Obituary Headline: Ott M. Miller Was Claysville Native Ott M. Miller, 80, native of Claysville died Thursday, December 19, 1957 at his home, Washington, Pa. RD 3. He was born in Claysville, July 19, 1877 a son of the late Joseph and Emmaline Henderson Miller. Mr. Miller was a member of the Second Christian Church. He was employed by the South Penn Oil Co., until his retirement eight years ago. Surviving are his wife, Jennie Closser Miller; two daughters, Levina, wife of Harod Bristor, Washington, RD 3, and Wilma wife of Arthur Johnson, Gas City, Ind. A son, Frank Closser, Youngstown, O.; a foster daughter Marie, wife of Vearl Lytle, Washington RD 3; two brothers, Oliver Miller, New York City, N.Y.; and Craig Miller, Glen Easton, W.Va.; three sisters, Mrs. Thomas Frye, Taylorstown; Mrs. Reed Trussell, Claysville and Mrs. Blanch Thomas, Pennsboro, W.Va. 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. A son Harold is deceased. Funeral services were held at the Robert E. Hummell Funeral Home, Washington, Pa., Monday December 23, at 2:30 oclock in charge of Rev. __.E. Wilson, pastor of the Second Christian Church and Rev. John H. Debolt pastor of the West Alexander Methodist Church. Interment was in the Claysville Cemetery.
  Publication: Claysville Recorder Published: Thursday, February 13, 1969 Page 1 Headline: Mrs. Reed Trussell Long Time Resident Mrs. Gertrude Trussell, 84, long time resident of Claysville, died at her home 251 Main Street Tuesday, February 11, 1969, at 7 p.m., after an illness of several years. She was born in Dallas, W.Va., January 24, 1885, a daughter of the late Joseph and Easter Henderson Miller. She was united in marriage with Reed Trussell who preceded her in death April 20, 1951. Mrs. Trussell was a charter member of the First Baptist Church of Claysville and was faithful in attendance as long as health permitted. Surviving are two daughters, Mae, wife of Cecil Vanderhoof, Claysville, RD., and Wilma, wife of Allen Semmel, New Cumberland, Pa., a sister, Mrs. Thomas Frye, Claysville and a brother, Craig Miller of Zoar, Oho. Also 11 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Three brothers and four sisters are deceased. Friends will be received at the Ray A. Brownlee Funeral Home from 7 to 9 p.m. today, Thursday, February 13, and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, where funeral services will be held Saturday, February 15, 1969, at 1:30 p.m. in charge of Rev. Lewis Bedell, pastor of the First Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the Claysville Cemetery.
