Louisa A. Dempsey Wood left her husband James H. Wood and her daughter Mary Jane about 1903. Mary Jane said that, one day when she was five or six, her mother, Louise, said she was going to the store and for Mary Jane to go to her grandmother's house and stay until Louise came for her. Mary went, but Louise never came back. The family does not know where she went or what happened to her. Anna, a granddaughter, doesn't believe Mary Jane ever saw her again. Henry Smith of Beckley. Mrs. Dempsey, a native of Ansted had been ill for seven months. Surviving are her husband, Sam Holly; two brothers, Bill Dempsey of Oak Hill, and John Dempsey of Sun, and the following children; David Holly of Pine Camp, N.Y., Mrs. May Tincher of Oak Hill, Mrs. Elsie Thomas of Oak Hill, Mrs. Ethel Arnold of Sanger, Mrs. Ella Louise Phillips of Myra, Logan County, Marcina Holly of Oak Hill, Mrs. Molly Skaggs of Oak Hill and Irene Holly of Oak Hill. Pallbearers will be Earl King, E.R. Propps, Bree Orsband, Mr. Nutter, Albert King and Pat Murphy. Flower-girls are to be Violet Fisher, Violet Workman, Edithe London, Mrs. Nutter, Margaret Fisher, Pattie Propps, Mrs. Earl King and Louise Miller. Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery at Oak Hill.
