  Charleston Daily Mail (Charleston, West Virginia) Published: Friday, November 12, 1954 Page 26 Headline: Mrs. Hugart, Mother Of 11, Claimed At 78 Mrs. Emma D. Hughart, 78, mother of 11 surviving children, died yesterday at the home of a son, Delbert of Sissonville after a long illness. Mrs. Hughart left 13 direct descendants. The Kanawha county native had lived in this area all her life. She was a member of the Grapevine Community chapel church. Four other sons also survive, Dayton and Denver of Sissonville, W. E. of Cooper's Creek and Clemet of Davis Creek; six daughters, Mrs. Grace Upscomb of Shrewsbury, Mrs. Ida Cobb of Charleston, Mrs. Grovie Stonestrect of Marlins Branch, Mrs. Pearl Miller of Vincent, 0., Mrs. Mamie Moss of Poca, Mrs. Altha Shafer of Sissonville; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Sarah Jordan of St. Albans and Mrs. Minnie Rust of Charleston; three stepsons, Fred and Sinnett of Charleston and John of Tupper's Creek; two brothers, Will and Tom Reece of Sissonville; two sisters, Mrs. Maggie Boggess of Sissonville and Mrs. Mollie Carte of Sissonville Road; a grandson, Loren Hughart of the navy, whom she raised; 72 other grandchildren and 50 great-grandchildren. The body will be taken from the Cunningham mortuary to the home of Delbert Hughart on Grapevine tomorrow at 1 p. m.
