Note:   Publication: The Charleston Gazette Published: November 26, 1986 Headline: Charlie Underwood Oak Hill - Charlie Underwood, 82, of Oak Hill, Fayette County, died Nov. 24, 1986, at home after a short illness. He was a retired coal mine owner and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Oak Hill, and UMW. Surviving: son, Charles C. of Oak Hill; daughter, Mrs. Eunice Janney of Oak Hill; brothers, Rufus of Roanoke, Va., Alfred of Price Hill, William of Sprague; sisters, Mrs. Oleda Cooper of Beckley, Mrs. Ila Herron of Eldridge, Ala., Mrs. Geneva Smith of Clearwater, Fla.; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren. Service will be 11 a.m. Friday in Calvary Baptist Church, Oak Hill, with the Rev. Houston Boothe officiating. Burial will be in High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Calvary Baptist Church building fund.
