  Publication: The Charleston Gazette Published: Monday, February 09, 1987 Headline: Mrs. Mabel Eads Service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Cooke-Pauley Funeral Home, Nitro, with the Rev. Dan Burger officiating. Burial will be in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today and after 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Mrs. Eads, 78, of 5274 DeWitt Road, Cross Lanes, was dead on arrival Feb. 7, 1987, at Thomas Memorial Hospital of an apparent heart attack. She was a native of Charleston and a former telephone operator for C&P Telephone Co. She attended Cross Lanes Bible Church. Surviving: daughters, Mrs. Josephine Simpson of Rock Branch and Mrs. Ruth Dolin of Tyler Mountain; son, Edward E. of Cross Lanes; sister, Ruth Shingler of St. Petersburg, Florida; brother, James Stodgen of Redondo Beach, Calif.; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
