He was a retired purchasing agent for DuPont, an Army veteranof World War II and a member of First Presbyterian Church, Charleston, and Moose Lodge 868, St. Albans. He was a graduate of West Virginia University, a member of Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity and treasurer of FanHealth Enrichment Club of the church. Surviving: son, James Bruce of Los Angeles; daughters, Sally Davidson of Mentor, Ohio, Ann Martinelli of St. Clairsville, Ohio; brothers, Howard of Charleston, Elmont of Texas; five grandchildren. Service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at J.E. Johnson Funeral Home, Kanawha City, with the Rev. Douglas Heidt officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park, South Charleston. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to First Presbyterian Church, 16 Broad St., Charleston, W.Va. 25301 or charity of choice.
