  Publication: The Charleston Gazette Published: Saturday, May 13, 1995 Headline: Virgie Myrtle Smith Beckwith - Virgie Myrtle Smith, 93, of Beckwith died May 11, 1995, at Raleigh General Hospital, Beckley, after a long illness. She was a retired nursing home attendant and member of Cotton Hill Baptist Church and the church Ladies Circle. Surviving: daughters, Lula Wilson, Catherine Wilson and Mary Bickford, all of Beckwith, Dolly McKinney of Oak Hill; brother, Herman Arthur of Beckwith; 23 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren. Service will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Cotton Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. Bob Scott officiating. Burial will be in Wilson Cemetery, Beckwith. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Dodd-Payne-Hess Funeral Home, Fayetteville, and one hour prior to service at the church.
