Note:   Publication: The Charleston Gazette Published: Thursday, March 04, 1993 Headline: Woman Killed; Mill Creek Man Facing Charge Gay - A Huntington woman was killed by a gunshot to the head Tuesday night and her boyfriend was arrested and charged with the slaying. Sheril Jean "Brenda" Newhouse, 43 formerly of Fayetteville, was killed with a .38-caliber pistol about 9:50 p.m., said Deputy Toby Shy with the Wayne County Sheriff's Department. He said a joint investigation by state police from the Wayne detachment and the sheriff's department led to the arrest of Wade Curry, 57, of Mill Creek. The incident occurred at Curry's residence following an argument between the two, Shy said. "It was a domestic dispute with alcohol involved," he said. "They had a disagreement and this was the end result." A circuit judge may set bond for Curry today or Friday. Newhouse was a homemaker. She was attended Cotton Hill Baptist Church, Beckwith. Surviving: sons, J.R. and Bubby McKinney, both of London; daughter, Sharon McKinney of Oak Hill; mother, Dolly McKinney of Oak Hill; brothers, John Jr. and Russell McKinney, both of Oak Hill; sisters, Nancy A. Davis and Dolly Ball, both of Oak Hill; two grandchildren. Service will be 11 a.m. Friday at Dodd-Payne-Hess Funeral Home, Fayetteville, with the Rev. Thomas Sergent officiating. Burial will be in Adkins Cemetery, Beckwith. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Wade Curry, 57, of Mill Creek, has been charged with murder in the shooting. She was a homemaker and attended Cotton Hill Baptist Church, Beckwith. Surviving: sons, J.R. and Bubby McKinney, of London; daughter, Sharon McKinney of Oak Hill; mother, Dolly McKinney of Oak Hill; brothers, John Jr. and Russell McKinney, of Oak Hill; sisters, Nancy A.
