James Atkins, 82, of Robson, Fayette County, died Jan. 13, 1997, in Montgomery General Hospital after a long illness. She was a lifelong resident of Robson, homemaker and member of Robson Freewill Baptist Church. Surviving: husband, William Lawrence Atkins Sr.; daughters, Janice Jewell Casey of Hammond, Ind., Sonja Sue Bass of Robson; son, William L. II of Robson; 17 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren. Service will be 1 p.m. Friday at B.C. Hooper Funeral Home, Montgomery, with the Rev. Ron Cooper officiating. Burial will be in Beards Fork Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
