Publication: Charleston Daily Mail Published: Saturday, August 3, 1963 Headline: Mrs. Ocie Halstead Summersville — A funeral will be conducted tomorrow for Mrs. Ocie Pearl Halstead, 76, of Mount Lookout, who died Thursday at her home after a long illness. She was a member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church. Surviving: husband, Lewis, daughters. Mrs. Delia Smith, Hico, Mrs. Minnie Thomas of Summersville and Mrs. Reba Shaffer and Mrs. Emma Jane Osborne of Mount Lookout: sons, Cecil and Oscar of Mount Lookout, Otis of Oak Hill and M. Sgt Lewis E. with the Army in Hawaii; sister, Mrs. Mary McClung of Canvas; brothers, William Underwood of Hico and Emory and Hubert of Mount Lookout; 29 grandchildren; and l8 great-grandchildren. The body was to be taken from Waters Funeral Home here to the home of Cecil Halstead today a 4 p.m. The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. in Mount Pleasant Baptist Church at Mount Lookout by the Rev. T. W. Carte. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
