Re: Mary Maus Majerus seen with Michael and Mary in 1900 and with Mary in 1910. She was born the daughter of John Maus and Catherine Loesch. She was referred to as MARY MAJERUS. 1885 census - Maine Prarie, Stearns, Minnesota, she is still at home. In the obituary for her aunt, Mary Maus Majerus it reads: "she is survived by no direct relatives, her nearest kin being Miss Mary Majerus, a niece, who since childhood has made her home with Mrs. Majerus. "Mary changed her last name to MAJERUS, but there is no indication here that she was legally adopted by the Michael Magerus (sic) family. In the Michael Majerus story "No children were ever born to Mr. and Mrs. Majerus, but they had one adopted daughter, Mary. They brought up another young lady, who some years ago took the vows of sisterhood and is known as Sister Secunda, of St. Joseph." This would be the daughter of Hubert Hanson and Catherine Maus.
