  Publication: Charleston Daily Mail Published: April 14, 1940 Headline: David Plaines Ho11iday Mr. Holliday, 60 years old, died in the Oak Hill hospital Friday at 11 p.m. of a heart ailment with which he had suffered for a two-months period. Funeral services will be held at 2 p. m. Sunday at the Oak Hill Baptist church with Rev. C. S. Donnally in charge assisted by Rev. Charles Rice, pastor of the Oak Hill Church of God, and Rev. I. W. Kinzer of Beckley. The body will be taken to the church at 12:15 p. m. Sunday and lie in state until funeral time. Burial will be in the Odd Fellows cemetery at Oak Hill. The Tyree funeral home is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Holliday is survived by his wife, Mrs. Maude M. Holliday of Oak Hill; five daughters, Mrs. Maymie Baumgartner, Mrs. Thelma Bowling, Mrs. Cleo Reed and Mrs. Nadine Sowders, all of Oak Hill, and Miss Bonnie Holliday, of Cedar Grove, and four sons, Obie Holliday of Cedar Grove, and David Jr., Leonard and Bernard Holliday, all of Oak Hill; one sister, Mrs. Rachel Sampson of Edmond, and four brothers, Joe H. of Corliss, John of Beckley, Jake of Rainelle and Charles Holliday of Huntington. The son of Able H. and Francis McGraw Holliday, both deceased, Mr. Holliday was born at Russelville, W. Va., July 30, 1880. He was for several years a merchant of Oak Hill and was a member of the Oak Hill Baptist church.
