a. Note:   Publication: The Charleston Gazette Published: Sunday, May 09, 1993 Headline: Dorothy Reuter "Bebe" Patteson, 88, of Mount Hope died May 7, 1993, at home after a short illness. She was the wife of West Virginia's 23rd governor, Okey Patteson, who served 1949-53. She married him in 1961. Patteson and his wife had each been married before and had been widowed. She was a member of Mount Hope United Methodist Church, Beckley Garden Club and Beckley Woman's Club. She was a graduate of Virginia College, Roanoke, Va., and attended New River State College, Montgomery. She was also a teacher. Surviving: son, Stephen Warden of Beckley; daughters, F. Lee Patteson McGraw of Lawton, Okla., Anna-Hughes Patteson Carone of Indiana, Pa.; brother, Ott Reuter of Martinsburg; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild. Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Monday at High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill, with the Rev. J.E. Perkins and the Rev. Karen Camden officiating. Friends may call from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Monday at Tyree Funeral Home, Mount Hope. Donations may be made to Mount Hope United Methodist Church.
