Underwood Tolliver, 90, died Tuesday, July 6, 2004, at Summers County Continuous Care Center at Hilldale following a long illness. Born April 2, 1914, at Garden Ground, Fayette County, she was a daughter of the late Rufus R. and Estie Wright Underwood. Mrs. Tolliver was a homemaker and a member of Mary Jane United Meth-odist Church at Streeter. She was preceded in death by her husband, Naaman E. Tolliver; two sisters, Edith Vest and Connie Sluss; and six brothers, Osban, Arnett, Daniel, Jackson, Herbert and Charlie Underwood. Survivors include two daughters, Martha Pack and husband, Delso, and Ruth Pack and husband, Jimmy, all of Jumping Branch; two stepdaughters, Eleanor Boykin of Creedmore, N.C., and Lucy Landers and husband, Jack, of Durham, N.C.; a stepson whom she reared, S. Enoch Tolliver and wife, Betty, of Bardstown, Ky.; four grandchildren, Sherry Whittaker and husband, James, of True, Dale Pack and wife, Jennifer, of Cool Ridge, and Rebecca Pack and Matthew Pack, both of Jumping Branch; seven stepgrandchildren, Stephen Landers of Texas, Terri and Jack Boykin, both of North Carolina, Scott, Sarah and Lisa Tolliver of Kentucky and Julie Clay and husband, J.B., of North Carolina; three great-grandchildren, Cameron and Audrie Pack of Cool Ridge and Autumn Whittaker of True; six stepgreat-grandchildren, Elizabeth Clay, Raven, Hunter and Michelle Boykin, all of North Carolina, and Daniel and Sophia Landers of Texas; a sister, Georgie Lowe of Jumping Branch; and three brothers, Howard "Bill" and Rolland Underwood of Jumping Branch and Benjamin "Benny" Underwood of Baltimore, Md. Service will be 11 a.m. Friday at Jumping Branch Gospel Tabernacle with Pastor Elmo Alderman officiating. Burial will follow in Simmons Cemetery, Mount View. Friends may call 6 to 8 p.m. today and after 10 a.m. Friday at the church. Her grandsons and nephews will serve as pallbearers.
