  Publication: The Charleston Gazette Published: Wednesday, December 15, 2004 Headline: Bertha Elizabeth Nagy Bertha Elizabeth Nagy, 83, of Whitman, W.Va., went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2004, while a patient in the St. Francis Hospital in Charleston. She was born on June 19, 1921, in Louisville, Ky. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Alex Nagy Sr.; and one son, Alex Nagy Jr. Mrs. Nagy was a homemaker and a devoted member of more than 40 years at the No. 14 Whitman Freewill Baptist Church. She was also a member of the Ladies Aide of the church. She is survived by her son, Herman Nagy of Shickley, NB; special grandsons, Alex (Linda) Nagy III and Walter (Kristi) Nagy, both of Charleston; and her remaining grandchildren whom she loved very much, Debbie (Bob) Brooks of Chesapeake, Va., Chris (Sherie) Nagy of Edgewater Park, N.J., Charissa (Orlando) Ortiz of Lancaster, Pa., Susie (Jon) Budine of Nutley, N.J., and Deddie Lawrence of North Carolina; great-grandchildren, whom she loves and was very close to, Megan, Alexandra, and Ryan Nagy, all of Charleston, Christina Nagy of New Jersey; she also had other great-grandchildren whom she loved, Heather (Dennis) Lawrence of North Carolina, John (Jennifer) Runyon of Indiana and Grace (Jon) Budine of New Jersey. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday at No. 14 Whitman Freewill Baptist Church with the Rev. Henry Damron Jr. and Roy McVey officiating. Burial will follow in the Highland Memory Gardens at Godby, W.Va. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Honaker Funeral Home in Logan and one hour prior to the services at the church on Friday.
