She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She graduated from Seton Hill College, and attended Simmons College for graduate work. She was preceded in death by her brothers, the Rev. Cyril Gundling Jepson. She was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church, where she was a member of the Garden Club and active in Parish activities, Charleston's Women's Club, Church Women United, YWCA, Board Member, Goodwill Auxiliary, Catholic Community Service Board, Diocesan Council of Catholic Women and involved in Girls Scouts. She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Benjamin; five daughters, Mary Eliza McCartney and her husband, Tim, of Toledo, Ohio, Christine Grizzell and her husband, William, of Charleston, Susan M. Bowles and her husband, Rick, of Winfield, Nancy Emerson and her husband, Gary, of Fort Wayne, Ind., and Catherine Jackson and her husband, Jack, of Charlotte, N.C.; grandchildren, Mike McCartney, Brian McCartney and wife, Sarah, Elizabeth Grizzell Bishop and her husband, Tim, Robert Grizzell, Matthew Bowles, Carrie Bowles and her fiance, Mathew Guggenbiller, Michelle Emerson Marlar and her husband, Kevin, Mark and his companion, Tierre Boose, Anna Jackson; great-grandchildren, Skylar Bishop, Jaden Bishop, Maya Grace Emerson; three sisters-in-law, three brothers-in-law, and many nieces and nephews.
