Note: Publication: The Charleston Gazette Published: Tuesday, December 26, 1995 Headline: Earl Caldwell Oak Hill - Earl Caldwell, 72, of Oak Hill died Dec. 23, 1995, at Raleigh General Hospital, Beckley, after a short illness. He was a native of Slagle, retired from the Bureau of Mines as a federal mine inspector in Harlan, Ky., member of Oak Hill Baptist Church, Oak Hill Lions Club and an Army veteran of World War II. Surviving: daughter and son-in-law, Victoria and Mike Humphrey of Oak Hill. Service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill, with the Rev. Gene Bowen officiating. Burial will be in High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill. Friends may call Wednesday until service. The family suggests donations be made to Fayette County Library.
