1847-1853 In Louise Akers' book there is an interesting account of Grayson Mills (later Graysontown) on the Little River in southwestern Montgomery County established in 1847 by William Grayson and his sons John and Crockett. This account includes the names Jacob Roop, R. J. Roop, Joseph W. Roop and Charles Roop. I believe that R. J. Roop is Jacob's nephew Reuben J. Roop (son of John) and that Joseph W. and Charles were Jacob's sons.
