He was a retired crane operator at the Lynchburg Foundry. He is survived by three sons, Lewis Turpin of Salem, Frank E. Turpin, of Radford, and John C. Turpin of Radford; four brothers. Walker, Robert and Richard Turpin, all of Radford; and Howard Turpin of Roanoke; two sisters, Elizabeth Stone of California and Mrs. Bernice Pritchard of Swathmore, Pa. and nine grandchildren. The funeral services will be held in the DeVibliss Funeral Home Chapel at 2 p.m. Friday, with the Rev. W.H. Eldridge officiating.
