a. Note:   BARONY OF ZOUCHE OF HARYNGWORTH
  V.5. WILLIAM (LA ZOUCHE), LORD ZOUCHE, or LA ZOUCHE (of Haryngworth), 1st son and heir, was said to be aged 13 and more at his father's death, was still a minor, 5 June 1424, and had seisin of his lands, having proved his age, 24 June 1425. Though he appears to have taken no active part in the Wars of Lancaster and York, he was a Commissioner of array, co. Northampton, to resist the rebellion of Richard, Duke of York, 21 December 1459 and 1460. He married, before 8 March 1423/4, Alice, de jure suo jure (according to modern doctrine) BARONESS SAINT MAUR and LOVEL (of Castle Cary), posthumous daughter and heir of Richard (SEYMOUR), 5th LORD SAINT MAUR and LORD LOVEL (of Castle Cary), by Mary, widow of John BROUGHTON, daughter and (in her issue, by her 1st marriage) heir of Thomas PEYVRE, of Toddington, Beds. She, who was born 24 July 1409 in the parish of St. Laurence in Cripplegate Ward, London, and baptised in the church there, died 21 July 1447. He married, 2ndly, before 2 April 1450, Elizabeth, daughter of Sir Oliver ST. JOHN, of Bletsoe, Beds, by Margaret, de jure suo jure (according to modern doctrine) BARONESS BEAUCHAMP (of Bletsoe), sister and heir of John BEAUCHAMP, daughter of John BEAUCHAMP, of Bletsoe (according to modern doctrine 4th and 3rd LORDS BEAUCHAMP (of Bletsoe)). He died 25 December 1462. His widow married, before 10 December 1471, as his 2nd wife, John (LE SCROPE), 5th LORD SCROPE (of Bolton), who married, 3rdly, and died 17 August 1498.
